On February 5, MSU’s Governmental Affairs office launched The Spartan Advocate – an informative and interactive site developed to educate and galvanize Spartan faithful on current issues in the Legislature and provide the tools necessary to help them communicate to policymakers, media and community groups the importance of supporting MSU and higher education.

Since its launch more than 350 Advocates have signed up and close to 70 emails have been sent to legislators. Spartan Advocates are sharing their personal thoughts on the value of their MSU degree, how MSU has impacted their lives and support of Governor Snyder’s budget recommendation of a 6.1% increase for higher education in his FY 2015 budget.

Armed with information, talking points and communication options, Spartan Advocates are joining together to impact policy and make higher education funding in Michigan a priority again.
