Graduate fellowships allow students increased opportunities to engage in innovative research, and the opportunity to take full advantage of the intellectual community at MSU, while they focus on their academic pursuits.

The University Distinguished Fellowship Fund was created in 2015 as part of an effort to increase the number of University Distinguished Fellowships available to graduate students at Michigan State University.

University Distinguished Fellowships provide full tuition, fees, and a stipend for outstanding doctoral students. They are used to attract superior students to Michigan State, which also helps in the recruitment of the best faculty members and helps with problem-solving research. Graduate fellowships allow students increased opportunities to engage in innovative research, and the opportunity to take full advantage of the intellectual community at MSU, while they focus on their academic pursuits.
