The MSU Alumni Club of Mid-Michigan hosts a picnic to welcome tri-county area incoming freshmen and their families to MSU. The 2010 picnic was held at Patriarche Park and featured Sparty, guest speakers, food, prizes and scholarship recipient introductions.

The Michigan State University Alumni Club of Mid-Michigan is one of a growing number of MSU Alumni Association clubs that plan and host picnics for new students entering MSU. The students and families dine on catered food at an East Lansing public park, and then break into two groups: One for parents, to have questions about MSU answered by University representatives, and a second for the new students to meet with student representatives of the Student Alumni Foundation.
