Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. Learn about the #GivingTuesMSU goal and the challenge gift that will double the impact of donations made.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a worldwide day of philanthropy held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this is an opportunity to come together and contribute to the common good and kick off the charitable season. This year's event is December 1, 2015. Make a gift online here.

How can Spartans participate?

There are many ways that Spartans can participate in the #GivingTuesMSU program for Giving Tuesday.

Make a gift.

MSU has a goal of raising $10,000 for the Emergency Assistance Scholarship Fund on Giving Tuesday. All donations - big or small - up to the $10,000 goal will be matched by a generous contribution from Lisa Parker, a 1995 alumna and current MSU Alumni Association staff member.

What is the Emergency Assistance Scholarship Fund?

The Emergency Assistance Scholarship Fund, operated by the Office of Financial Aid, provides resources for MSU to help students who encounter emergencies and need one-time financial help. There are many reasons that a student could find themselves in this sort of situation, and we try to help as many as we can. This fund helps tremendously and takes some strain off the general fund financial aid accounts. The funds in this account are very low, and we're at risk for not being able to help the students we would normally assist. For this reason, the 2015 #GivingTuesMSU campaign is focused on raising the funds available for this program.
