Interesting facts from the 2012 State of the University address

At the 2012 University Awards Convocation, President Simon gave her annual State of the University address. There is a website dedicated to the address, including a YouTube recording. One of the features on the website is an interesting infographic. We’ve included part of it below, and you can view the entire infographic here.

A few stats we love to hear:

  • One of the top 100 universities in the world
  • #1 in the nation in nuclear physics, elementary education, secondary education, industrial & organizational psychology, supply chain management, and study abroad participation among public universities
  • Student employment placement upon graduation has increased 8% since 2012
  • Students come from all 50 states, all 83 Michigan counties, and 130 countries
  • Pays the least energy per unit and consumes the least energy per square foot in the Big Ten
